I, Marie Standeren, have had a dream of becoming a clothing designer since childhood. Now with a degree stating that I have reached that goal, my dream encountered a huge obstacle: my core value, sustainability. No matter how sustainable the fibers, production & shipping, etc. are, there will always be the issue of producing more stuff & sooner or later adding to the extreme amount of fabric waste already out there.

 

I had to do "clothing designer" differently. I realized that the only way I could make new stuff was going to be from old stuff.
